Samantha Mickaylah's Quinces

Hey there Hey!

Hope everyone is doing well. It's pretty gloomy today but I am OK with that. Staying in weather only means getting to do more of what I love most! Sometimes I barely get the chance to sit down in a day, which I know is not any good for me, but we all have to give in to the things that our days bring us at times. Having 3 kiddos of my own and all in different age categories has taught me to embrace everything with compassion, passion, patience and LOVE. Ah, kids...What I would do to go back to my younger years and really take my time to enjoy childhood. Time seems to be going at the speed of light and before you know it you are expected to be an adult and have to assume all these adult responsibilities, and you look back wondering where did your adolescent and teenage years go?!?!? (eyes wide open, yikes) Yep... I know! LOL

That is why I love being given the opportunity to photograph kids of all ages and all phases. In this particular post I will be sharing what is one my most favorite times in the "teenage" years. Your Quinces, Spanish word for Fifteens. Growing up with Hispanic Culture when you turn 15 years of age, you are now in the becoming of a woman stage and that my friends is big ordeal among all your family including distant cousins and Tia Abuela's you might of never even met. Until your huge QuinceƱera Party that is! LOL Where everyone will come to see you be the STAR of your own party.

But aside from all that, it's the essence of being 15. Not yet a girl, not yet a woman. You are getting to know who you are. You start being more girly and feminine. Make-up and Hair become a part of your day. You are in high school now doing the things you like. Chocolate milk and toast is sufficient for dinner. Sleeping in is part of your weekend routine. Talking on the phone and hanging out with friends is a must! When I think 15, I think carefree days, all smiles, music, fun, dancing. Sheesh TAKE ME BACK!!!

This beautiful young lady I had the pleasure to share this experience with is Samantha Mickaylah. This session was very exciting as we were able to shoot in 2 very fun and different locations I had never used before. I had a blast doing the hair and make-up for each look. I am so happy and feel privileged that I can offer those services in my photograph packages as well. I am telling you I LOVE THIS!!!

Here is the beautiful QuinceƱera feeling confident and ready to express herself.... (Model Material!)
